I am much more balanced with my writing and the rest of my life, and at this point I just don’t think that I can do NaNoWriMo this year. Maybe not ever again. But for all you NaNo’s out there, I wish you the best. I will cheer you on from the sidelines. And I will keep plugging away at my writing.

Our Brother Joe is Dead.
Most boys didn’t get to come back from the war walking on their own two feet. Some of them came back, but they were mostly wrecks. But, most of them came back in boxes if they came at all. But not Joe. Joe came back into town with a smile on his face. He had gotten a lift from the station and the driver had dropped him off right at the edge of town. When we first spotted him, he was adjusting his uniform getting ready to make his big entrance.

It is not every day that you get to celebrate a major milestone in your life, but for me today is one of those days.
Torn about the Moon – On Private Companies in Space
First, I want to say that it is great that private companies are getting involved in space exploration. I personally think that the worlds space administrations have stagnated. They have gotten to a point where they are not doing anything that is going to capture the imagination of the future engineers and scientist they will need to keep their programs running. They, NASA especially, has become a bureaucracy, and no one grows up with the plan to go to work for a bureaucracy. They are not the agile nimble group that send men to the moon nearly 60 years ago.
I am Torn About NFP
As I have shared before, my wife and I are NFP Teachers. In the last couple of years something about doing this has been niggling at the back of my mind. I do feel called to help people understand NFP. But It was not until I had a conversation with my wife that I think understood some of what has been eating at me.
