As the colder weather starts to set in, I thought it would be a good time to talk about how we prepare our homestead for the coming winter.
As always happens you have the beautiful part of the Fall, and then you have the part you have to clean up. That is where we are now. So here is what we got done this weekend.
I have been wanting to try these for a while, and man these were great.
We start with a rainy day but the truth is we have a lot to be grateful for, and I spend some time talking about what I believe is the most essential part of life.

Today, the pigs that we got last spring have completed their journey from farm to table, and we take one more step toward self-sufficiency.
Last night we went out to our woods and worked on the “secret project” despite still getting over the cold our household has been suffering from.
