So this week’s prompt is:
It has been two decades since you saw the light of day. Really any light at all Joe. Are you sure you want to step outside in the middle of August?
So this week’s prompt is:
You are on a colony mission to a new world. You discover a creature from an ancient race, on a the planet that was supposed to be devoid of life. It is among the last of it’s kind, but there are others. They don’t really want you on their planet, but don’t have the numbers to be able to drive you off. They do have the weapons, but using them could be as dangerous to them as it is to you and the other colonists.
Those of you who know me, knew that I could not go on forever without giving writing prompts. They are like little rabbits in my head and they multiple if I leave them alone for too long. Well I left them alone too long, and now there are tons of them.
Pluto sat with his back turned to Eris, a dangerous thing to be sure, but since she was asleep he figured it was a risk he could take. He carefully opened her date book and thumbed to tomorrow’s date. Just for once he wanted to know what kind of day he should plan for.
These prompts are not part of any on going contest at Pirate’s Cove or Flying Island Press, but you might get some extra points if you submit a story that is based on one of our prompts. Flying Island Press
I keep forgetting to add the prompt for the 100 word Story podcast into my recordings, so instead I will just post it.
Here it is this week’s 100 word story Challenge Prompt . And yes, I already have my story for it written and recorded and amazingly sent in.
I am now opening up the floor for Writing prompt suggestions.
Here is the way this works. Normally I pick a topic over the weekend and post it on Monday or Tuesday. I have been leaning pretty heavily on other people asking friends for topics things like that for the last few weeks, so I thought I would open it up.
If you would like to submit a topic here is what you need to do.
1. Send me the topic, e-mail, twitter, leave a comment, voice mail whatever way you want.
2. The topic HAS TO BE PG rated
3. Once I get the topic I will let you know if I will use it. By the way, this is your opportunity if you have trouble writing a story in a week, if I accept your topic you will have until I use it to get a story written. You will have the advantage. The chance to get a really good story written and polished and everything.
Topics can be as long or as short as you you like. (if you want to see ones I have used in the past look at posts labeled with “Creative Writing Prompts”)
