For a while now we have been working on finding a boar (male pig) that we could mate with our current female. I have gone back and forth about trying to find a boar to mate with her, or just trying to find a new breeding pair. Trying to find a breeding pair is difficult not to mention expensive but that way, you might end up with the “best combination” The other option was trying to find a boar who was close enough in breed that it could mate with her without difficulty.
I had hoped that if we found a more mature boar to mate with her, we could put them together right away and start the process, but it didn’t work out that way. Instead, we got two piglets, one intact boar and one female that we can either use as a second sow or just butcher. This does mean that we are going to have to wait a bit longer, but I think the mix we currently have with the new piglets (once they are mature) will work out great.
Nothing around here happens without a level of chaos, and this was no exception. I hope you enjoy the tale of two piglets
I know it has been a while since I posted an update or a video here. Things have been a little crazy, but I will try to do better.
