So a quick update on our progress on lent. We are most of the way through the second week of Lent, and we have made some moderate progress. This year the goal for our family was to pray at least one decade of the rosary each day. That really does not sound like much but with nine little ones, doing anything every day can be a bit of a challenge. That was why we decided on one decade, rather than a whole rosary. Where our older children are more than capable of praying an entire rosary, the idea was to do something as a family.
We have managed to do this most nights, and have even managed to do a couple of decades on the nights when we have missed one the night before. The second part of the goal was to pick something every night to pray about. Each of the kids gets to nominate something, and what ever we decide on we write down and post someplace around the house that is visible, to remind us what we should be praying for.
As I said we have made moderate progress with this. But we are moving forward.
What a lovely thought, you and your family praying the Rosary. I can imagine with nine children a speedy process may be for the future. I am learning “moderate progress” is okay. Thanks for sharing this great story. God Bless, SR
Yeah we are taking what we can get. As I said the older kids are totally capable of doing it them selves. I am just hoping the youngest of the kids learn prayers by the end of Lent.
